Mr Ephrem Chong took the triple science combination for GCE “A” Levels in NJC, scoring 4As in Physics, Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics. He obtained a Master’s Degree from NUS and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from NIE specialising in Mathematics and Science, with distinctions for Topics in Physical Science and Biological Science for Primary Science Teaching.


He was assigned to be a teacher in Raffles Girls’ Primary School, then selected to teach science in the Gifted Education Program in Henry Park Primary School. Being under the Gifted Education Branch, he was trained in cutting-edge teaching pedagogies from prestigious international educators. This includes the E2K Science Program from the Israel Centre for Excellence through Education.


He is an experienced science tutor, having taught the subject for more than ten years. He founded Science Studios to impart the joy of learning science.



Co-tutors Calla and Christopher assist Mr Chong in guiding the students during experiments and answering the students’ questions.

  • Calla has more than ten years of experience in tutoring, with a majority of students improving their grades under her guidance. She achieved straight A’s for the GCE “O” and “A” levels and graduated with a distinction for her Master’s Degree from NUS.


  • Christopher graduated from NUS with a High Distinction in Bachelor of Applied Science (Hons). He received the best student award in his major for his overall excellent performance in his undergraduate studies.
